I went to the casino last week, and the minute I am inside I see Mark Grace walking by on his cell. I yelled “Gracie!” He waved and kept walking. It was an amazing moment in my life, and if you don’t know who Mark Grace is……..Then I don’t know…. you should probably stop reading. So we get to drinkin, and gamblin, ATM machine scramblin! I come up big and I am feeling awesome! First things first, go to the bar and get everyone in the gang that night a drink.I am getting drinks and this girl next to me at the bar noticed how fucking high roller I was at the moment, and gave me a smile.  Beautiful girl! I had to do something. So I cleared my throat, looked deep into her left eye, took one sharp look at her drink, then back into her left eye, and said as seductive as I possibly could……. “You’re empty”. Without breaking eye contact with me she replies “Vodka Soda”, we were locked in some kind of orb of sexual tension… “Bartender! Add a vodka soda to my tab”.  We got to talking and we like some of the same things, and she tells me her short story, I tell her my short story, its going ok!  So I ask her a question I think is extremely important in my life… “Are you a Diamondbacks fan?”  She replied ecstatically “Yes! I love the Diamondbacks!” This is a good sign. Then in all my excitement I said “I am a big Diamondbacks fan too!  Oh and Mark Grace is at this casino tonight!!!!”  My little dream come true took a drink of that vodka soda, and what she said next I wasn’t prepared for…… “Oh I don’t know any of the players on the team now, I was more of a fan a long time ago when they won the world series.” …….. The feelings I had for this girl left my body just as fast as everything I learned in high school left my brain.  Things got quiet… I got quiet.  She wrote her number on my slot machine ticket, and she was gone.  I don’t blame Gracie, he was my good luck all night, and he was almost my guide.  Respect the legends, and Go D-backs.
